WHAT IS A MULTI-GENRE RESEARCH PROJECT?
A multi-genre research project presents multiple perspectives on a single topic in order to provide a rich and appealing product for an audience. As you work on this project, keep in mind that you will be creating pieces of writing for a particular audience. As you explore how to write in many different genres, you will get to know your topic in great depth.
We will be working on this project for the entire third quarter and much of the fourth quarter of the school year. We will be learning about different writing genres and how to choose the genre that best fits our purpose for writing and our audience. We will discover how to research a topic in great depth and hone our skills in finding high quality resources to fuel our writing. We will look carefully at the differences between print and digital sources, as well as print versus digital writing.
Your writing will be displayed in a portfolio at the LTP Sharing Night on THURSDAY MAY 12, 2016from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. The many additional elements of your learning will also be displayed at this time. There will be guidelines and due dates for each piece of writing and the various project elements throughout the project. You will need to keep a close eye on this site for changes and access it often to view resources and documents that will keep you moving forward. Most of the LTP work will be done in class.
